OVPL Women's Division in 2020

OVPL Women's Division in 2020

The Ohio Valley Premier League (OVPL) has received sanctioning from US Club Soccer for a women's division and is set to begin play in May 2020. The women's division will play eight matches, as five members have already entered the OVPL. With the women's division sanctioned, the OVPL now will provide opportunities for 12 men's teams and five women's teams for players to continue their competitive playing careers.

As a league, the OVPL will operate within Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio to help local communities grow the beautiful game through competitive matches and local soccer culture. The amateur men’s and women's divisions allows for players as young as sixteen (16) years old to compete in a structure that encourages development by competition with and against experienced players in a U23 division. Due to the structure of the OVPL, no players will jeopardize amateur status within their youth clubs, high schools, or universities.

With the sanctioning of the OVPL through US Club Soccer, the regionalized league is a first of its kind for the Ohio Valley area. Five women's clubs already committed to the OVPL and will be announced shortly. If you are interested, please submit a request for communication here www.ovplsoccer.com. All OVPL members will have a representative on the Board of Directors while being under the authority of the Executive Directors.
