OVPL adds Ohio Premier for 2020
The eighth club to commit to playing in the inaugural 2020 season of the Ohio Valley Premier League (OVPL) is Ohio Premier Soccer Club. Founded in 1993, Ohio Premier has grown to be one of the most successful soccer clubs in the nation. Since 1999, Ohio Premier has hosted one of the top youth soccer tournaments in the region, the Ohio Premier Invitational. Dating back to 2000, Nike recognized OP as one of its “elite” clubs, with the club still holding Nike Premier Club status.
An original founding member of the girls and boys Elite Clubs National League (ECNL), Ohio Premier now extends its youth offerings to the adult amateur level with membership in the inaugural OVPL season. With player development being a focus of the Club, Ohio Premier players can now have a senior team to play on during and after their youth careers have concluded. Home matches for Ohio Premier will be played at the Ohio Premier Training Facility in Plain City, Ohio.
“We are exited to add this platform to our club programming”, said Chris Baer, Executive Director. “Our long-term goal for the Ohio Premier Soccer Club is to provide a ‘Member for Life’ playing environment where you can join us at 4 years of age for our Juniors program and play on our “Senior Teams” – under 23, open adult, over 30, over 40, etc.”
Members of OVPL for 2020 include: Cincinnati Dutch Lions FC, Indy Saints FC, Lexington Landsharks, FC Pride, Cincy SC, Valhalla FC, Cincinnati Swerve, and Ohio Premier Soccer Club. Stay connected with the OVPL on Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram.
