Kings Hammer SC adds women's team to the OVPL!

The fifth new member of the 2021 OVPL women's division is Kings Hammer Soccer Club. Headquartered in Covington, Kentucky, Kings Hammer is adding a U23 team to its expanding programming, which included their first U23 men's team in the fall of 2020 and a new USL League Two team starting in 2021. Home field for Kings Hammer will be Town & Country Sports and Health Club in Wilder, Kentucky. The Kings Hammer women's team will be lead by head coach Wil Cagle and assistant coach Lindsay Basalyga.

The Kings Hammer SC mission is to positively impact the development of youth in our community by providing soccer and educational opportunities to young players of all ages and playing abilities and to create a lifelong passion for the sport of soccer. The ultimate goal as a club is to encourage, inspire and empower each player and coach to be able to reach the highest level possible within the game and their lives, while helping develop leaders and individuals who will inspire others to do the same.

About the OVPL

The Ohio Valley Premier League (OVPL) was created to operate a competitive soccer circuit offering the only adult amateur competition throughout the Ohio Valley (Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia) region. Player development is a central focus of the League, as the League strives to promote the region at a national level.

The OVPL seeks to grow the game of soccer in the region by providing a highly competitive soccer league for men, women, boys, and girls of all ages. The League is sanctioned through US Club Soccer and provides access to competing in the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup, the nation’s longest running tournament.
